The General's Top-10 RunningBack list is full of information, projections, and strategies. According to The General, RunningBacks are the most important position on a roster. If you don't have solid RunningBacks, you are destined for failure. The only thing The General hates more than Communism, is a Zero-RB strategy.

Christian McCaffrey is quite simply the god of fantasy football. If you have him on your team, you really don’t need to worry. No matter who else you draft really, McCaffrey will lead your team to victory most weeks. McCaffrey should undoubtedly be the first person off the board in every single draft. McCaffrey does have some injury risk, given that ⅓ of his seasons he has been hurt, however if he is healthy, there is no possible way that he ends up outside of the Top-3 for Runningbacks. McCaffrey again has the highest ceiling of any Runningback, and worst case scenario, he still ends up as a Top-3 RB. McCaffrey is the safest pick in the draft while also being the most important position in the draft. If he is on the board, pick him.

Bijan Robinson is possibly the most hated on Running Back in the fantasy realm. The amount of people saying that Robinson hasn’t proven enough truly does anger me. Robinson was hands down the most promising Running Back coming out of the 2023 Draft, and finished as the highest rookie Running Back at RB9 Overall. Robinson had to be under direction from Arthur Smith and Desmond Ridder, which was a horrible atmosphere for him. With Kirk Cousins coming in, and being under orders from a McVey-styled offense with Zac Robinson, Bijan Robinson will only produce more. Robinson will be used how Christian McCaffrey was in Carolina, and I’m definitely willing to invest heavily into Robinson this season.

Breece Hall is the biggest question mark of the first round. Should Breece Hall be the 2nd pick or the 9th pick? I don’t really have the answer for that honestly. Hall has a really good chance to do amazingly well with the Jets and Aaron Rodgers next year. The 3rd-Year Running Back will be your RB1 for your team, and honestly he shouldn’t fall anywhere below that. The ceiling isn’t absurdly high for Breece Hall, like it is for other Running Backs on this list, however his floor is still quite high as well. There should be no reason Hall falls outside of the first round, and I think that anybody who gets him will not be complaining about his production.

Jonathan Taylor is my favorite Running Back in terms of ADP and potential this year. When Taylor has been healthy, he has broken records. His rookie season he finished as the RB5, and in his sophomore season he finished as the RB1. People will hold a grudge against Taylor for taking him as the first pick in the 2022 draft and him only playing 11 games due to injury and contract issues, however there is almost no need to worry about that happening next year. Taylor only played 10 games last season, and was averaging roughly 15 Fantasy Points Per Game as somewhat of a RBC with Zack Moss. Taylor finally picked back up the reigns for the end of the season, and with Zack Moss now gone, there will be no contest for Taylor in Indy. Taylor has arguably the highest ceiling alongside McCaffrey next year, and shouldn’t make it out of the first round.

Jahmyr Gibbs was quite a surprise last year. The 2023 12th overall pick put up one of the best backup Running Back seasons ever. Nobody expected Gibbs to really even see the field much his first year, however he ended up being what seemed like the starting Running Back by the end of the year competing with David Montgomery. Gibbs will still see around a 60/40 split next year with Montgomery, and Montgomery is much more of the team’ goal-line and 3rd Down back. Gibbs is the real version of what fantasy owners think Achane will do (which he won’t). Gibbs’ explosive playstyle along with his pass-catching abilities make him a really good Running Back to rely on. Gibbs will have bad days, but he will also have amazing days. Gibbs should end up around Top-5, with a slim chance he strays far above or below that mark.

Kyren Williams was the league-winner for a lot of fantasy owners last year, alongside his teammate Puka Nacua. Williams put up a monstrous 1350 Yards From Scrimmage in just 12 games, and an average that would have put him just below McCaffrey if he would have been healthy the whole season. Williams appears to have a tiny bit less workload next year with the Rams bringing in Blake Corum, however Williams will still undoubtedly be the main ball-carrier, and should easily be Top-5 if he plays a fully healthy season. The only concern about Williams is his health, which I am a tiny bit nervous about, which is why he isn’t higher on this list.

Saquon Barkley has had a rough go in the NFL. Barkley has been the only weapon on a crippling team, just how Barry Sanders was on the Lions. Barkley has had virtually no help in New York, and has been a rather fun one-man show to watch. Barkley managed to end up on one of the most productive offenses in the league this offseason however, and he is no longer the centerpiece of the offense. Barkley won’t see as much usage in Philly as he did in New York, however the Eagles O-Line is a dramatic jump in improvement, and with teams actually having to worry about a passing attack, Barkley should be quite efficient. Barkley should be gone by the middle of the second round. Barkley will be a solid RB1 for your team, available in the 2nd Round.

Derrick Henry is finally getting a shot at a title. Henry has been the most notable workhorse Running Back throughout the last half-decade, and it’s clear that he is finally on a good enough team to let him shine. Henry has one of the best O-Lines in the league now, and under a more run-heavy scheme, there is no doubt that Henry will put up some incredible numbers. It also seems that one of the only ways that people could take the king to the ground was the hip-drop tackle, which is now illegal. Henry will be running wild in Baltimore, and is somehow falling to the 3rd Round in some drafts. Henry should be gone by the middle of the 2nd Round, right next to Barkley.

Travis Etienne always seems to slide under the radar. Etienne finished as the RB3 last year, while not being drafted until around the 4th Round last year. Etienne won’t do spectacular things in Jacksonville, but he still should be a solid Mid/Low-End RB1 for anybody’s fantasy team. There’s really not much to say about Etienne other than to expect the numbers similar to where he’s being drafted.

Joe Mixon is probably the most underrated Running Back in all of fantasy football. Mixon has finished RB3-RB12 in his 5 healthy seasons, and he’s on a much more efficient offense it seems than he has been the past couple years. Mixon is somehow falling to the 5th Round in some drafts, however his production is consistently that of a Low-End RB1. Mixon won’t be used as much in Houston as he was in Cincinnati, however he is still a very viable cog in the Houston offensive machine.
